Exactly what I was looking for

I recently upgraded my cell phone and wanted to use it to monitor traffic conditions and play music in my car, and so I needed something that could hold it in place while I'm driving, so it's not banging around in the cupholders or tucked in my coat or pants pocket making it hard to get at. I have a GPS in my car mounted to the windshield that I still prefer to use for directions so my phone couldn't occupy any dashboard space or mount to the windshield as well. That meant something that would hold it up in or near the center console. I initially expected to find some sort of snake mount that plugs into the cigarette lighter but this looked more promising. Despite that there were no reviews posted of it, I figured that I'd give it a shot.

In short, it does exactly what I need it to!

I am not familiar with vent mounts so I had to fiddle around with it to figure out how to secure it properly, but it took minutes to do that, especially after I read the manual. I think the manual could be a bit more descriptive but it's a simple enough device that it wasn't really a problem. I was worried that my smaller dashboard vents in my 2012 Hyundai Elantra would be too small but it turns out that it wasn't a problem at all. It snapped securely into place and, aside from a little bounce which is to be expected, sits very secure.

It holds my Nokia Lumia 900 very securely. In the vertical orientation, the clamp does partially cover the power button but if I need to press it, squeezing the clamps accomplishes the task just fine. Operating the phone while in the mount is very comfortable. It doesn't push around and is very easily in view and within reach, being in front of one of the dashboard vents.

The construction of the device looks very solid and operates flawlessly. The clamps disengage via a pushbutton mechanism and they slowly pop out. It looks good and feels like it won't fall apart any time soon. I included a photo of how it looks in my car.

If you are in need of a cell phone mount of this sort, it gets the job done very well.
